Oh Snap! ... A catch up on what we've been up to

Whoa! Things have been super crazy recently, I feel like I've not done one of these catch ups in forever as the weeks just seem to be flying by at the moment. I've been so busy trying to organise various things that I've not had as much time as usual to spend blogging, but I'm hoping to turn that around in the next week - trust me, it's going to be worth the wait!

This weekend we got our fabulous new loveseat delivered, which is possibly the greatest name for a small sofa ever and it's certainly fitting :D I've been trying to find a cute retro looking couch for at least 3 years now... It has been a labour of love! The problem is that it needed to be small enough to fit up the stairs; that's the downside to olde Edinburgh flats, the spiral staircases are not furniture friendly. It's probably the most expensive thing we own, but by gosh it's amazing. And we got it made with the most lushious teal fabric; heaven! Worth every penny and definitely worth waiting for. You wouldn't believe how stressed out I was about it arriving safe and sound, I'm so relieved!

Whist things have been manic, I'm really pleased that we've been making some proper time to chill out and enjoy ourselves too. Being busy is great, but it's also really draining - it's so important to remember that breaks and couple time should not be overlooked when you seem to be battling the clock each day. We've had to skip a couple of official date nights this month, but we've defo managed to make up for it which is great. Last year I got in such a rut with time management and it kept resulting in personal time being thrown out the window. After I got knocked for six with being ill I vowed that I would make sure that never happened again. It's been getting a little close recently, but I'm pleased to say we've been quick to turn it around :)

I'm so so proud to have held our first #EETCraft makers meet up this month! Can you believe it? Last week myself, Fiona and Zyzanna had a great team meeting with some of our fabulous local makers. I wasn't sure if people would come or how it would turn out, but I am absolutely over the moon to have had the chance to network and get to know some of our handmade community. Everyone is so lovely and enthusiastic, I'm really looking forward to working with them in the future and seeing what incredible events we can create together. My resolution to spend more time out of my comfort zone is certainly paying off, ignoring my nerves and just getting stuck in seems to be the best way around confidence issues. David keeps telling me that no one can see how nervous I am doing these things which is reassuring - I always feel like a bit of a hot mess but apparently it's just me ;)

As I'm sure you'll all know by now, there's only a 4 days left till the Etsy Craft Party! SQUEE! Things are really coming together for our event; this week I've been working on some decorations and the contents of our goodie bags - we have some of our favourite makers involved with the treats for our party goers and I literally can't wait to spill the beans as soon as it's happened! We've got our photos and supplies ready and we're just waiting on a final few bits and pieces to come together and complete our celebration. It's going to be a blast!

For those of you who can't make the party, don't fret... We've got an extra special goodie bag set aside just for you! Keep your eye out for a cracking *GIVEAWAY* on our blog in the next week... It's defo going to be worth entering, I can't wait to tell you more :D

  1. *poke* hello! Amazing that you've been taking time out. I had wondered where you vanished to! Twitter has been unexciting without you around!
So glad your EET meet went well, and I'm so gutted about being unable to attend any Etsy Craft Parties, but what can you do? I might find myself a paper hat and squeeze a little crafting in between my writing and yoga. What do you reckon? I talk to myself ALL THE TIME so I don't think I'll notice the lack of people :P
Your sofa looks jammy, by the way! BEST COLOUR EVER. We've been waiting 23 weeks (so much for '12 weeks maximum') for our new sofa, but it SHOULD be here on Wednesday, at last. Nothing so flash as yours, though!!

    Big smiles!!

  2. Haha! Well, you've probably noticed my daily twitter absence due to the business of our days rather than our breaks as those have been squeezed in everywhere but! You should defo get involved in the event by doing some at home, I've been working on a couple as examples for the party and they're actually a lot of fun! Paula, who I met at the Etsy Summit is running an online one you can do live also :D Find out more about that here:

If we weren't hosting, we'd be taking part in that :D
So glad to hear you're a fan of our new sofa! The colour is insanely good, it's even better in real life :D I can't believe it's taken you so long to get your new sofa - that's shocking! M&S did such a good job for us, it was really painless. I have my fingers and toes crossed for Wednesday then - I hope they find a way to make the long wait up to you too!
