Hello lovelies! This week we've been having a little home holiday and it has been absolutely amazing. Who knew staying in your home town for a week could actually result in a lot of fun new discoveries?
We decided to try and go on a daily adventure and go explore some of the places we always talk about visiting to but never seem to have the time... Funnily enough, most of those places involved food, so you can rest assured we've been eating our way around town - and it has been fabulous!
I think my favourite new discovery has to be Lovecrumbs. If ever there was a place I could curl up and live in forever, I think it would be here! Amazing cakes, Violet Petal tea and quirky decor .... I think I'm in love :D Out of all the cafes we've visited this week this has defiantly been our top pick.
Restaurant wise we finally went to Tang's, a wonderful Japanese eatery that serves amazing Green Tea Lemonade, a super delicious Pad Thai and a cracking Bento Box for those of you who love trying a little bit of everything. It's certainly worth the visit if you're coming to Edinburgh!
Consuming aside, it's been lovely to wander about the city now that we've finally had a little bit of sunshine. It's still windier than Chicago and totally freezing, but the bright light is a real mood changer - it's amazing how much stuff you miss when you're rushing to get out of the rain. Everyone has been in such great spirits; hopefully that's winter on the out!
Today we went for a wander around the National Museum of Scotland which is a real treat when it's quiet. I love exploring the astrology side of things and larking about with the interactive toys.... you're never too old!
There is a crazy amount to see and do in here which is great because it means that there is always something new to discover, plus it's free and you get to check out this Giant Squid. Not only is it pink, but it's also longer than a bus. Pretty amazing, huh!
All in all we've had a blast so far and we still have a few more days left to play around with. After visiting Krispy Kreme and consuming about 10 donuts between us(!!), we're looking forward to going for a little swim and a stretch at Yoga. It's not often we indulge this hardcore, so we'd better start working it off before we get back to work!
This all sounds great. What a lovely way to spend some time off. I will definitely be heading to Lovecrumbs next time I'm in Edinburgh. Xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's been so so good, I didn't have high expectations but it's been an amazing break :D Defo visit Lovecrumbs - you might even see me there! Haha! Brewdog is great if you love craft beers and The Potting Shed by Teviot does an incredible halumi salad lunch if you're looking :B I'm always on hand for food and drink suggestions! heehee
DeleteI've been meaning to explore my own town for a while now, just haven't taken the time to do it, so Bravo! :o) That doughnut looks glorious! It's making me what to nom on some Kristy Kreme as we speak!
