Oh My Macaroon!

My Macaroons!

Oh My Macaroon!
I thought I would share a little sneak peak at my Macaroons. What do you think?
I am super proud of these cute little treats - they are quite tricky to master, but defiantly worth it when they come out right. The first batch that went into the oven were a little heart breaking (note to self, do not take phone calls with fun stuff in the oven!), but this round look great!
I thought I would post you a few pics from the process to show what goes on...

Measurements for Macaroons

Measuring out the ingredients:
There actually isn't much to a Macaroon; almonds, sugar, egg whites, flavouring and colouring. I made pretty pink vanilla flavoured ones here - you can't beat a classic after-all!

Whipping up a storm
The funnest part of any process - using the beaters! My mum used to let me take charge of the electric beaters when I was little. They make me feel very important when I use them now; some things will never leave you... especially knowing where to look for the mess once I have used them! Tee hee hee!

Before Baking

Here they are all lined up on my baking sheet and waiting to go into the oven. Macaroons need a lot of time, attention and love to get right, but they taste like a dream when they are ready to go!

Out The Oven

TaDa! Slight cracking, but super pleased with this lot of tops. Remember that the colouring goes a little lighter when they are baking, so add in a couple more drops to get the right shade of cuteness. I then used white chocolate ganache for the filling, which is just white chocolate and whipping cream combined and cooled. Yum Yum!

Tea anyone?
