Vivid Do The Paris Sights!

Whilst getting lost in Paris is a treat on it's own; with so many pretty streets and eclectic areas there is always something new to fall in love with, your trip would not be complete with a visit to some of this beautiful city's famous monuments. Today we thought we would share our favorites with you...

Eiffel Tower
I fell in love with the Eiffel Tower in my teens, but it wasn't until our little trip did I manage to get to the top. I am delighted to share that the experience is well worth the wait too! Not only is the view breathtakingly good, but we were also over the moon to see a proposal taking place too :D Well, it wouldn't be a trip to Paris if we didn't see one! The tower also lights up at night and twinkles on the hour after dusk and we recommend it as one of our top things to see if you manage to go. It's simply mesmerizing!

Luxembourg Gardens
Another treat is a visit to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens. Every Sunday there is educational displays; people were being taught flower arranging and we got to see honey bees do their thing when we went. These incredible free exhibitions aside, the gardens are so peaceful with plenty of seating and stunning grounds to get lost in. A live brass band, a cute little restaurant and a great little pond with rentable boats to play with provide much entertainment, but we were happy playing with the millions of conkers we found on our wanders. You could happily spend a day here if the sunshine is out!

Moulin Rouge
Whilst we couldn't afford to see a show at the Moulin Rouge, we reckon the cute little windmill on the roof is worth the visit alone! This place is super renowned for their pretty ladies in frilly dresses and their frisky shows... and to say it is in a 'colourful part of town' is quite the understatement! A visit to this part of the city is perhaps not for the faint hearted, but definitely worth a look if you go before dusk.

St Germain
For those of you wondering where our favorite place to get lost in was, we would have to say that exploring St Germain was just amazing. There are hundreds of lovely bars and restaurants to choose from including some absolutely amazing little shops which you could happily spend forever looking around. This area has a lovely atmosphere and is really inspiring too. Weather you want to drink cocktails at happy hour or taste some of Paris's most delicious macaroons, we recommend this is the place to do it!

5 days is a blast in Paris, but if you can afford to go for longer we would say go forever! These favorites aside, we would also recommend the following:
a visit to the Arc du Triomphe at night - there is a great view of the Eiffel Tower from there too
a wander around the Notre Dame if you are looking for something free to do
and have a cheeky beer at Mc Donald's - the novelty never ends!

We hope you've enjoyed our little parisian post! For those who missed out, read up on our disneland experience here. Our final holiday recommendations will be on our favorite markets -- we're saving the best till last ;)

Au revoir!

  2. I have got no idea how I managed NOT to go to Paris ever. I grew up in Germany, worked and lived there and in Switzerland (and overseas), but I never, ever made it to Paris. What a shame! All the better to accompany you on your journey with such pretty photos - thank you!
