Green Lady Not Actually Green!

The Green Lady (The Chinese Lady) by Vladimir Tretchikoff

Recognize her? Well you should, as this is the most reproduced paintings in the whole world. It has adorned more British homes (and one of our favorite bars) than Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen could ever get his mitts on and we are delighted about it!

Ever wanted to learn who was the Green Lady is? Well, your luck is in...

Meet Monika Pon; Icon of the 1960's
Tretchikoff heard of her beauty through a friend and went to her uncle's launderette to find out if the story was true. He then persuaded her to pose for him and the rest is history!
Monika proudly admits that the painting was the best thing that ever happened to her... but she never liked her green face. We love Monika!

See Monika rein-act the still she held for the painting
& out more about the story here...
