Vivid are strong believers in giving money to charity, no matter what.
However, what you see above is not a donation; oh no! It is fundraising in the future!
Meet DONA, the 'Urban Donation Moving Robot", the brain child of Min Su Kim, who is some kind of futuristic genius.
Not only does DONA wear an adorable Red Riding Hood cloak, but is designed to make appreciative gestures once money is dropped into her fundraising tin. Cute! She also has little wheels underneath allowing her to roam around to make our hearts melt a little more.
How cool is that? As you can see from above, a lot of hard work has gone into this project, but we have to say that we think it was worth the while!
Although we don't need encouraged to donate, we think Min Su Kim has done a fabulous job of reaching younger audiences in Korea and showing us all what technology can do. It is nice to see a fresh approach to a subject which people sometimes turn a blind eye to. Smart, effective and incredibly clever, we think DONA will be setting new standards for the rest of the world.
DONA is currently doing a great job of raising money for Save The Children, an amazing charity which raises money for children in terrible situations all over the world. If you aren't fortunate enough to meet DONA out in Korea, but still want to support them, please visit here
